Dear Family and Friends,
Hope all is well. The past few days in Antofagasta have been fine. Honestly the best thing that happened over the past three days has been my discovery of Yogen Früz. Doesn’t that look awesome? They have one in the mall here and it’s delicious frozen yogurt. It’s actually an international chain and has been around for quite a few years, but new to me. It’s different than Berryline (or Pink Berry) because they mix the fruit in with the yogurt with this fabulous machine and then put it in a cup or cone. I’ve been getting banana and berries. Blueberries, raspberries and blackberries. You can tell be the delicious color of the yogurt.
Antofagasta is fine – it’s clean, and relatively safe I think, but pretty dull. I go to work, come back, and hang out at the hotel bar and watch the Olympics. There aren’t that many great restaurants around here, and they certainly aren’t in walking distance. The hotel is also Fine. It’s not luxurious, but it’s decent. There’s not that much to say about it. You can order an avocado at the bar and they cut it up into very thin slices and spread them out pretty like a flower. I ordered some cheese slices today as a snack and I asked the bartender if it was “flaccid” cheese trying to see if it was “soft” cheese. Nice. The internet has been pretty good, except that Breaking Bad messed up while I was halfway through it, even though it was already downloaded. Arr!
Also, I have more pictures but couldn’t upload them! Maybe tomorrow. Love, Annie
